In the ruins of London, the Empire rules through fear and fire.

“Everyone knew about ‘The Flames’ and how much trouble they had caused for the Empire. They were the only rebel group anyone knew about that had lasted longer than a few months without getting caught, leaving candles behind whenever they snatched somebody out of the Empire’s grasp. Getting involved with people like them is stupid. So stupid.”

Ever since her parents were murdered by the empires agents, Jacks has been living on the street as a pickpocket trying to keep away from trouble. When she accidentally witnesses the rebel group ‘The Flames’ in the middle of an operation she is unwillingly swept up into their world, and has to decide if she’s going to go back to looking after herself or join the rebellion and help them fight for the people of London Ruins.

She knows that getting involved was stupid, but does she really have a choice?

This was an amazing read! I was hooked from the very first chapter, holding my breath to see what would happen next. The characters are rich and vibrant, and the world Danielle has created is fascinating. If you love YA, you MUST read this book. Such a smart, brilliant debut novel. I loved it!Leah B.

Kudos to Danielle Rogland, author of Ignite, perhaps one of the best stories I've ever read before, for her conception of the plot and pacing and style of writing and in addition to her exceptional use of punctuation and grammar, a true masterpiece to be sure. I wish her all the best in her future endeavors as an author.Ben G.

There is a solid cast of characters, well defined and at times intimately personal. The story is set in a future version of London within an empire that has risen from recent world war. The Empire reflects monarchies of old, with a self centered ruler using any means necessary to control his people. But from the ashes in the heart of London, a small group of young rebels defy the system to fan the flames of rebellion. You will not be disappointed.

Ignite eBook Danielle Rogland Reviews

It was a good book. Was not hard to get into once I started. I am looking forward forward to reading what happens next.
Honestly, it was as if there were no care in the world for grammar, reading a final time before publishing or any of that sort. Perhaps there was a deadline and everyone was rushed, but some of the typos are really quite jarring. I'm going to hope that this is only the case for the version and not the printed edition.
This wasn't my typical read but, the writing was great!!

This story was a lot deeper than I thought it would be and was told in multiple point of views which got a bit confusing at times. There was lots of twists that keep you guessing and keep you intrigued throughout the book.

I look forward to reading more from this author in the future
I thought it was a very good book I'd read more
Not a bad teen novel. A good look into a post modern world. Engaging characters and a good story line.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This story has a great plot and cast of characters but it feels as if it's missing something. There's so much more that could have been done and I think we could have cared more about the characters but I just didn't. I liked Jacks and Jeremy the best. Zira and Corry irritated me at best and I guess I could get their story once I knew it but it did not really connect with me. And I didn't know Finn and Addy that well. I was left wondering what'd happened to these characters to get to the point they were at but I didn't care for them enough to really relate to them and understand their plight or care.
The plot line was interesting but we've seen it before. I knew that Zira would get caught at some point and they'd end up in the dungeons. You could see that the plot to save them was going to work because it has to for the book to continue. I don't mean to be harsh about the book but it left me wanting more. I just feel like there was so much more that could have been explored and done with this book. With that being said, I'd still read other books, like possibly the sequel, by this author. I'd give her another chance.
I don't tend to pick up and enjoy dystopians, but I know the author so I decided to give this one a try. And I am so glad I did! I enjoyed it a lot, and the plot was very timely (fighting back against an oppressive government). I swore aloud at least twice while reading this book, which is a testament to how invested I got in the characters and story.
